Pelagic Vortex / Bait Ball
Pelagic Vortex captures the breathtaking precision of a mackerel bait ball frozen at the peak of its spiral defense. Created from gleaming stainless steel, the sculpture assembles hundreds of individual mackerel into one unified, breathing sphere that seems to turn and tighten before your eyes. Mounted high on its pole, the work transforms a fleeting underwater phenomenon into a permanent monument to survival, instinct, and fluid strength. It stands as a meditation on how vulnerability becomes power when movement is synchronized.
