Kelping
The concept behind this piece is the Humpback Whale. The whales can be seen in the summer months frolicking in beds of floating kelp that's detached from the sea floor. This curious practice has come to be called “kelping.” Though this abstract sculpture will be a quarter the size of the real mammals, I hope he makes a whale of an impact. "No matter how far from the ocean you may live, it affects us, and we affect it."
