These sculptures mark the beginning of a new series, drawing inspiration from Alex's original stainless steel designs focused on Native and Pelagic past works. Forged Carbons randomized fiber pattern requires meticulous control to shape and mold while maintaining its strength. What is Forged Carbon…..?

Forged carbon is a composite material made by mixing carbon fiber fragments with resin and then molding the mixture under heat and pressure: 

Key characteristics of forged carbon: 

• Unique appearance

  Forged carbon has a marbled or swirled pattern because the carbon fibers are randomly oriented, unlike in traditional carbon fiber composites. 

• Lightweight and strong

  Forged carbon is lightweight but very strong and durable, with uniform strength in all directions. 

• Corrosion resistant

  Forged carbon is more resistant to corrosion than other materials like aluminum and titanium.
